Aloe Vera has played a role in the human story for millennia. It was part of Cleopatra’s famous beauty routine, and its properties made it a popular Egyptian embalming fluid.
Alexander the Great was so sure of Aloe’s ability to heal war wounds he conquered places where it grew and brought supplies to battle. Roman physicians wrote of Aloe’s role in the treatment of wounds, gastrointestinal problems, gingivitis, arthralgia, skin irritation, burns, sunburn, acne, hair loss and many other ailments and conditions.
These days Aloe Vera is used in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine for skin conditions and wounds, headaches, constipation, stomach pain, inflamed joints, worms and fungal infections. It is a common ingredient in beauty products and can be found in modern health drinks and foods.
“Four vegetables are indispensable for the well-being of man: Wheat, the grape, the olive and aloe. The first nourishes him, the second raises his spirit, the third brings him harmony and the fourth cures him.”
-Christopher Columbus
We were benefiting from Aloe Vera well before the birth of Alogenic. For many years while my husband worked as a forensic engineer, we drank Aloe Vera juice and using it as balms and skin treatments. It helped one of us find relief from gastric problems.
In 2019, my husband had an injury and as usual, we looked to Aloe Vera to help us out of the problem. After he had an operation on his knee, we increased his intake of Aloe Vera juice and applied the gel regularly – something we believed reduced bruising and helped get him back on his feet. Read about it on PDF.
The messages were now so loud and clear that we could no longer ignore it. with Robert’s engineering career coming to an end, it was time to start sharing the gift of Aloe Vera from my family to yours.
Alogenic was finally born.
We took the plunge and started to reach out to growers in Northern Australia to find the very best certified organic and glyphosate free Aloe Vera available. The business began the start of 2019.
“So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable.”
— Christopher Reeve
Finally, in case we weren’t already sure Aloe Vera was the right thing to produce and share from my family to your’s, Covid-19 came along and underlined the need for everyone to keep themselves in the best possible physical health.
The pandemic has taught us that people need to work together as a global community to fix the root causes of our problems. For the first time in most of our lifetimes we are all going through the same thing at once. We need to find a way through this together because with the threat of climate change looming over us, this won’t be the last time we face a common threat to our safety and our lives.
“Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much”
— Helen Keller

These photos of the Manufacturing plant show the blending room tanks where our 99.7% Aloe Vera Juice (Certified Organic) is converted to the gel, and also the tubing machine that is used to pack the product for bulk tube orders. A portable stainless steel tank is used to transport the gel from the blending room to the tubing room which is in the same GMP suite.
All air in the manufacturing rooms is filtered to an ISO F7 or ISO F8 standard, and both the air and room surfaces are routinely monitored for microbial contamination. The products are micro tested also.
